About Giorgio

Biography

Beginning his musical endeavors at a young age in Northern California, Giorgio began with piano and later became interested in the choral arts & composition. At nineteen he became the youngest winner of the Los Robles Master Chorale's Young Artist Choral Composer Competition with The Christ Child, a Christmas carol set to a poem by G. K. Chesterton, premiered by a 100-voice choir. Listen to the award-winning piece →

As a freshman at Thomas Aquinas College in 2013, he started a men's ensemble that met once a week. It grew into Floriani, whose name has a story of its own, told by The Catholic Gentleman. In 2020 Giorgio and three fellow alumni left full-time work to devote themselves to sacred music. Today Floriani is a nonprofit ensemble that has sung worldwide and released several albums including the renowned Chants of Deliverance in 2024.

Music is the universal language with which I aim to transform hearts and minds. Whether it's in my composition, performance, or instruction, I aim to leave every person that encounters this music transformed with Divine love.

Giorgio Navarini

He has gained renown in sacred music for his virtuosic vocal sound and evocative compositional writing, including an original Kyrie from a Mass honoring the Blessed Mother. In 2025 he served as Kapellmeister and organist at Cologne Cathedral for SEEK International.

With a passion for handing on this immense tradition, he has developed key methods of instruction to pass the baton of musical excellence to young students and enthusiasts, through the Chant for Children course, parish chant workshops, and the Collegium.

The Voice of Floriani

Giorgio's distinctive timbre is woven into the sound of Floriani, lending warmth and depth to the ensemble's chant and a recognizable color to its recordings. As founder and director, he shapes how the group sounds along with what it sings: the prayerful phrasing of the chant and warm strength has lifted the hearts of many. Additionally, his compositions are written for these same voices, pairing chant's flowing lines with close four-part harmony. This sound carries through in Floriani's 2024 album, Chants of Deliverance, a collection of Gregorian chants that has reached millions of listeners worldwide.
